Hi,

I found an interesting web site, www.mytaxcut.us. Within a few second I was able to find out what I would get from each candidate’s tax plan. I just entered my filing status, number of dependents and income. I was not asked for my social security number or any sensitive personal information.

At www.mytaxcut.us you can:

  • Find out how much your taxes would be raise/cut
  • Find out how many people benefit from each plan
  • Find out how much people are taxed at each income level
  • Find out how taxes have changed over the past century
  • Create your own tax plan
  • Send your plan to Mytaxcut.us & they will post the results

The graph below is an example of the type of detailed information that you will see. This graph is for people filing as a family with two incomes and one dependent. For each income level you can see whether taxes increase or decrease; McCain’s plan is in red and Obama’s plan is in blue. The pie chart and the bar chart tell you how many people benefit from each plan. Go to www.mytaxcut.us to see the graph for your filing status (married, single, one earner, two earners, etc.).

Mytaxcut.us is nonpartisan. All information comes from the candidate’s plans, the IRS and the Tax Policy Center (a nonpartisan group). There are no negative political ads.

I think they've done a good job of explaining a complicated situation.
